Almost 60 years ago, North American Cleve Backster, an expert in the use of polygraphy in the interrogations of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), mistakenly discovered that plants were capable of perceiving certain stimuli related to pain, sounds and even certain form of telepathy. Accepting this possibility as a premise, a context between the scientific and the purely illusory could be established to develop a typographic system that, in some way, responds to those sensitive qualities that Mr. Backster’s experiments discovered in relation to communication between plants.
That is what BLOOM is about, developing a typographic system that brings us closer to the extraordinary world of plants.
BLOOM in use.
Part of the project consits in inviting other artists and creatives to use BLOOM
Thanks to their contributions, we could see how BLOOM works in diverse contexts, showcasing its remarkable versatility.
